What is the Bible?

What are Christians talking about when they refer to the Bible?

The word ‘Bible’ simply means book.

It is a collection of 66 books that include book of law, history, poetry, prophecy, biographies and letters.

The Bible was written by 40 different authors, in 3 different languages, over 1600 years.

The Bible claims to be the Word of God and this is proven by the unity of the message in the Bible.

There are no contradictions in the Bible.

The Bible is divided into 2 main parts: Old Testament and New Testament.

The Old Testament is the story of a nation, and the New Testament is the story of a Man. The nation was God’s way of bringing the Man—Jesus Christ—into the world.

Central Character

Jesus is the central character in the Bible. The Old Testament predicts his coming and the New Testament describes his coming and his work to bring salvation to all.
